Blandina Mmbaga Prof. Blandina Mmbaga, MD, PhD, FAAS is the Director of the Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute, an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Child Health at KCMC University, Adjunct Professor of Global Health at Duke University and Adjunct Professor Pediatric and Child Health University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, visiting research Prof. Virginia University and Phillips Marburg Medical University in German. She is a site PI for the IMPAACT and ACTG HIV clinical research site at KCMC, a program Director for the D43 Sociobehavioral Sciences mental health services and research capacity building, m-PI on the D43 TRECK Program: Trauma REsearch Capacity Building in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania and co-investigation for the SYV intervention and mhealth adherence interventions. She has championed the establishment of pediatric HIV clinic 2004 and Adolescent and Youth friendly clinic 2008. She has mentored over 140 undergraduate, masters, resident, doctoral, postdoctoral, fellow and junior faculty, resulting in over 450 publications. Dr. Mmbaga is also a co-Director of the Eastern Africa Consortium for clinical Research (EACCR) the EDCP Network of Excellence. Prof. Mmbaga saves in several scientific advisory positions. She was awarded MARIA KAMM Female Scientist Award in 2024 and Fellow of the African Academy of Science (FAAS) in Health Science 2023.
