Joseph Baruch Baluku Joseph Baruch Baluku, MBChB, MMed, MSc, is a consultant physician and clinician–scientist at the Makerere University Lung Institute (MLI) and Head of the Pulmonology Division at Kiruddu National Referral Hospital, Kampala, Uganda. He serves on the Scientific Committee of the Union World Conference on Lung Health and is a Journal Editor for PLOS Global Public Health. Dr. Baluku’s research portfolio spans tuberculosis, TB/HIV co-infection, post-TB lung disease, cardiovascular complications of TB, epigenetics, fungal lung disease, and other respiratory infections. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications. He received the Joep Lange Award at the INTEREST 2020 Conference.
