Vincent Muturi-Kioi Vincent is the HIV Vaccines Product Development Team Lead at IAVI. In this role he is responsible for advancing the most promising immunogens against HIV from discovery to experimental medicine trials with the goal of developing a vaccine regimen that is safe and efficacious. Prior to this role, he served as a Senior Medical Director within the Clinical Development team at IAVI and was responsible for the design of clinical development plans, clinical trial protocols and safety monitoring plans for clinical trials evaluating biomedical prevention interventions against HIV, and other diseases of public health importance.
Vincent has 17 years of experience in vaccine clinical development and life cycle management. He previously worked at GSK, and, prior to that, for the KEMRI/CDC collaboration in Kenya.
He received his MBChB from the University of Nairobi, a DTM&H from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Master of Science degree in Vaccinology and Pharmaceutical Clinical Development from the University of Siena in Italy.
